    Description

      Current Situation

      • Due to latest changes, the release API endpoint starts a non-blocking thread to perform time-consuming background tasks and finishes immediately. Unfortunately this results in a response with an empty body instead of the expected non-null JSON body and a HTTP 204 response code because of the missing body.
      • The issue does not affect the JOC Cockpit GUI that checks the HTTP status code in case of a missing response to decide if an API request was successful.

      Desired Behavior

      •  The release API endpoint should always respond with a non-null body in JSON format.
