Current Situation
- JobScheduler comes with limited support for authentication and authorization.
- We face a rising demand for improved authenication and authorization.
Desired Behavior
- Basic Authentication Use Cases
- Authentication with an Active Directory via LDAP
- Authentication with a database
- Authentication against a list of users
- Basic Authorization Use Cases
- JOC
- Restrict read-only access to job related objects and permissions to modify such objects
- Restrict visibility of job related objects
- JOE
- Manage access to specific directories for storing job objects
- Manage access to specific functions based on job objects, e.g. jobs, job chains, orders, schedules
- JOC
Maintainer Notes
- This feature is available with the JOC Cockpit starting from release 1.11
- This feature is not made available for JID and JOE
- The JID is retired with release 1.11
- The JOE will move to the JOC Cockpit with release 1.12
