The list view for the Job Chains view, Orders view and Jobs view shows two panels: the top panel shows the list of objects, the bottom panel shows the list of history entries.
The vertical size of the top panel can be changed. This change is not persistent (except for the Job Chains view) and will be reset to its default when switching between views.
The default size is not optimized, e.g. if only one entry is in the list then there is a lot of empty space.
Desired Behavior
When changing the vertical size of the top panel then this change should be persistent for the user session and should not be reset to its default when switching between views. This behavior already works for the Job Chains view and should also work for the Jobs view and Orders view.
The size of the top panel should be optimized to allow the bottom panel with history entries always to be visible:
If the top panel default size is larger than the space required to display entries then this size should automatically be reduced to fit the size required by entries and should not include empty space.
If the number of entries in the top panel exceeds the default size, then the default size is applied and users have to scroll to see all entries.
When a user changes the size of the top panel then always the changed size will be applied and rules 1) and 2) will not be applied.
This will be done per folder. That means changing the size for a folder "a" will not effect the size when showing folder "b". Each folder can have an individual changed size. This is due to the fact that folders contain a different number of entries.
When changing the size for the entries in folder "a" the size for folder "b" will still be the optimized size
When changing the size for the entries in folder "a" and changing the size for the entries in folder "b" then both will have a different size when entering the folder again
This changed size will be set to its default
when a new login occurs. That means that changes are not persistent after a logout.
by use of a new button "Resize Panel" right to the existing buttons "Expand Details", "Collapse Details" that will resize the top panel to its default size.
Scope
This change applies to the Job Chains view, Jobs view and Orders view.
For the Individual Jobs view and Individual Job Chains view automatic resizing is active and allows to manually change the size of the top panel. However both views will not remember this change when leaving the view, i.e. automatic resizing is applied when re-entering the view.
