Provide error message for Git Integration instead of Null Pointer Exception

Current Situation

If GitCredentials are not configured for the specific user trying to use the Git Integration a Null Pointer Exception is thrown without a clear report in the log about what was missing.

Desired Behavior

If GitCredentials are not configured for the specific user trying to use the Git Integration a meaningful error should be reported in the log.
