Details

    Description

      Current Situation

      • Users of the Open Source License for JS7 are free to use the software within the scope of the GPL.
      • Users of a commercial subscription license receive a license key that expires at the end of the subscription period.

      Desired Behavior

      • Users of the Open Source License do not receive warnings about license expiration as this license is permanent and unrestricted.
      • Users of a commercial subscription license receive warnings about license expiration:
        • Warnings
          • are displayed from a banner that becomes available below the menu and right to the page title "Dashboard".
          • are subject to use of language files.
            • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, last warning: "The JS7 license expires on <date> <time>. Get in contact with <sales@sos-berlin.com> for license renewal."
            • beyond expiration warning: "The JS7 license expired on <date> <time>. Cluster instances of JOC Cockpit, Controller and Agents are out of service."
          • are displayed on a per user basis.
          • can be deactivated by a global setting in the Settings page in section "joc": disable_warning_on_license_expiration (default: false)
        • Frequency
          • Warning Periods
            • 1st warning: 2 months before license expiration
            • 2nd warning: 1 month before license expiration
            • 3rd warning: 1 week before license expiration
            • last warning: 24 hours before license expiration
            • beyond expiration warning: any time after license expiration.
          • Handling of Warnings
            • the 1st, 2nd and 3rd warning offer two options: a) Got it, b) Remind me later
              • a) makes the warning disappear until the next warning period is reached
              • b) makes the warning appear 24 hrs. later
            • the last warning and the warning beyond expiration do not offer an option and cannot be removed
