The setting mail_on_error should not create multiple mails if a job is repeated due to an order setback

Current Situation

• Using the setting mail_on_error in combination with a setback configuration will create an e-mail every time that the task fails.

Clarification

• This behavior should not take place if the task runs again caused by a setback.
• More technical requirements and use cases have to be collected, e.g.
  • defining rules for repeated mails, e.g. for every 5th job repeat or to different recipients depending on the number of repeats.
  • configurable content of repeated mails that would help to identify if a job failure occured in a sequence of setbacks or if this is the final error.
• We will consider to add this feature as requirement to a future re-write of the JobScheduler mail interface.

Maintainer Notes

• This feature will not be developed for the JobScheduler Master as the similar functionality is available with the JobScheduler Monitoring Interace..
