    Description

      Current Situation

      • The JS7 Agent checks for termination of shell jobs by the following mechanisms:
        • The job script is terminated and returns an exit code.
        • The file handles for stdout and stderr channels are released. Should they not be released, then this indicates that child processes are running after termination of the job script and continue making use of stdout/stderr.

      Desired Behavior

      • The Controller and Agent know the ignoreEOFForStdoutStderr option.
        • If the option is set to true, then the Agent considers a job being completed after termination of the job script without further check if EOF has been signalled for stdout/stderr channels.
        • The default value is false which corresponds to the previous behavior.
      • The JOC Cockpit GUI and API know the option that is added to a workflow's JSON storage format.
      • The option is applicable at job level.
