Description
Feature
On Controller and Agent start-up JVM metrics can be provided via jstat.
To create metric data, users can assign the JS7_METRICS variable the value 1 in the related metrics script.
- Unix
- ./bin/controller_metrics.sh
- ./bin/agent_metrics.sh
- Windows
- .\bin\controller_metrics.cmd
- .\bin\agent_metrics.cmd
Example: controller_metrics.sh
#! /bin/sh # ------------------------------------------------------------ # Company: Software- und Organisations-Service GmbH # Purpose: Java metrics by jstat for JS7 Controller # ------------------------------------------------------------ set -e ########################## # jstat metrics # see https://docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase/17/docs/specs/man/jstat.html # set this value of JS7_METRICS to 1 if jstat is to be called when the Controller starts # Set JAVA_HOME in controller_instance.sh if jstat is not in the path JS7_METRICS=1
The ./bin/(controller|agent)_metrics.(sh|cmd) script is executed once during start or restart.
If metrics are no longer needed, then jstat must be terminated from the process list and the JS7_METRICS variable must be reset to 0.
Maintainer Notes
- Users operating Prometheus can integrate JS7 products with the tool.
- This offers use of Grafana Dashbaords for visualization of metrics.
