Description
Current Situation
- JS1 offers to permanently skip the nodes in a Job Chain. Users can use the option "skip job" from the Job Chain tab to skip a job during execution of a Job Chain.
- JS7 does not offer to skip a job in a workflow. Once a workflow starts executing, there is no way to skip a job and keep the rest of the workflow running. In fact jobs can be skipped in JS7 workflows by use of the If-Instruction, however, this requires to prepare the workflow for this situation.
Desired Behavior
- It should be possible to permanently skip jobs in a workflow until the user later on will "unskip" the respective job. The operation to skip a job results in a permanent behavior including restart, fail-over and switch-over of Controller and Agent Clusters. To skip a job does not modify a workflow and does not require repeated deployment of a workflow.
- The skip should work as below:
- Users can skip jobs in a workflow, individually for a single order or permanently for any upcoming orders.
Maintainer Note
- This feature is intended for better compatibility with JS1.
